Street Food and Cattedrale Tour
The Streetfood tour will show you the old part of the town with its best monuments.
After a stop at Quattro Canti and the Baroque Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini you’ll walk to the Pretoria Fountain with its long history and legends.
In Piazza Bellini you’ll visit S.Caterina Church and you’ll try some of their typical sweets in the pastry and then S.Maria dell’Ammiraglio Church, that holds inside its magnificent mosaics, now Unesco heritage.
Then we’ll get inside Ballarò market, with its narrow streets and its vendors with their typical stalls, beginning to enjoy the scents and voices of Palermo markets.
During the visit you’ll eat at different typical street vendors and you’ll see how they make our traditional food, like bread with panelle (rectangles of chickpeas flour fried), the cazzilli (potatoes croquettes),the sfinciuni (sort of thick pizza with tomatoes, onions and oregan), all dishes that are part of the poor gastronomy in Palermo, served with a Gazzosa, a typical Sicilian soft drink. After lunch we’ll walk towards the sumptuous Cathedral on Corso Vittorio Emanuele and you’ll see the Chapel dedicated to our Patron, Saint Rosalia.
The walking tour starts at 10am at Quattro Canti, ends at 2.30pm at the Cathedral.
